As you know, I never hesitate to call out a manufacturer if their products or services fall short of expectations. Cybernetic Research Labs (CRL) is a company that we’ve showcased a couple of times – specifically for their Tactical Cache and Pen. Both of those products were excellent.
Unfortunately, the Pen Kickstarter Campaign did not go smoothly with some customers never receiving their pens or receiving their pens well after the fact with little or no communication from the company. The company’s customer service email address, which was provided to campaign backers and listed on their website, bounces back. Accessories in steels other than aluminum, that were promised to be available after the campaign wrapped, have never materialized.
Certainly backers experience these sorts of problems with projects everyday on Kickstarter, but they usually don’t happen with an established company like CRL. I love my cache and pen but I typically don’t want to support a company that provides such poor service to its customers. Hopefully Cybernetic Research Labs will correct these issues and get back on track.
