As I shared last month, Maxpedition indicated some new products were on the horizon. They didn’t waste any time. A little over a week ago, they released a new Wolf Gray colorway (similar to Arcteryx’s Wolf Gray), a number of new zippered pouches, EDC organizers in different sizes, an RFID blocking wallet, and my personal favorite – a mid-sized urban friendly vertical messenger called the Narrow Look Bag.

At 10″(L) x 4″(W) x 12″(H), the Narrow Look is very similar in size to the Tom Bihn Ristretto for iPad, which is another bag that I like in the smaller vertical messenger category. The difference between the two bags is that the Ristretto has a padded iPad compartment and the Narrow Look does not.
What the Narrow Look does have is a better EDC organization setup with what looks to be a well executed front admin pocket with both elastic loops and a hook and loop panel. The main compartment has hook and loop also.
The great thing about hook and loop is it can be used to add accessory pockets or even a holster and magazine pouch if you CCW.
One nice feature that Maxpedition also incorporated into the Narrow Look is a silent flap closure using four magnets. In general, I can’t stand messengers that use noisy velcro to secure the main flap and that goes double for a bag that could be used for CCW. So kudos to Maxpedition for taking that into consideration.
The Narrow Look bag retails for $98.99 and is available on Maxpedition’s website and other outlets where Maxpedition products are sold.
