Aaron Tweedie, founder of Man-Pack LLC, reached out to us recently about his upcoming Man-Pack Platinum Kickstarter Campaign. The plan is to expand the Man-Pack line to include a collection of premium leather EDC bags that are more professional in appearance but still retain the features that fans of the first bags loved. The “Executive” really shows some promise. It retains the same sling design as the 2.0, which means you can wear it cross strap, rotated to the front to reach in tight places (like mass transit), or worn over one shoulder. The campaign promises custom options including left or right carry, different size cell phone pockets, strap lengths, and embossing/personalization.

The other two models include the “Minimalist”, which is a more streamlined, and the “Classic” that more closely mirrors the 2.0 design.
The Platinum series promises the best of both worlds. The beauty of fine leather combined with a functional EDC design. That’s not easy and if these new bags deliver both then Man-Pack will have a sure-fire hit on their hands.
The campaign is just getting started so there’s still time to get in on the early pledge levels. If you prefer leather bags but still like the utility of slings for EDC, then it’s definitely worth a look.
