In case you’re wondering – yes, I still continue to field test long term some of the packs we review that make the cut. Case in point… I recently took the Tom Bihn Synapse 25 on a driving trip to Branson, MO. We had a great day at Silver Dollar City and the Synapse was a great amusement park companion. It was large enough for me to carry some stuff for the entire family but low profile so it wasn’t a burden when we were getting on and off attractions when they allowed bags to be carried onto rides.
That was even more true when we explored Marvel Cave, which rests under the park.
I’m tall so things got pretty tight in a few places. The pack took a little abuse as I crawled through “Tall Man’s Headache” – a 7 foot long passage with a 4.5 foot ceiling. But Tom’s packs can take a little abuse from cave walls. The Synapse 25 still looks new.
Marvel Cave is a pretty amazing place. I highly recommend a visit if you find yourself in Missouri.
