If you’ve slept under a rock, the most anticipated pack launch of the year happened yesterday when Prometheus Design Werx (PDW) stocked their new SHADO pack.

Why is it so significant you ask? One of the co-founders of PDW is Patrick York Ma. Patrick is the former founder and creative director of Triple Aught Design.
Ever since he left TAD, people have waited for Patrick to design another pack. Even if it was a team effort, he almost certainly had a huge influence over the design of the SHADO and that makes its launch a news worthy event in the pack world.
The Prometheus Design Werx SHADO is 21″H x 14″W x 8″D and 28L (1,708 cubic inches) in volume. It comes with padded hip wings and an adjustable and removable 2″ belt. An organizer PALS Grid/Loop panel is the only accessory available at time of launch but they also plan on releasing a “Gear Trap”, which is PDW’s version of a Transporter Tail.
Prometheus Design Werx EDCO Panel
The PDW SHADO retails for $289 and the EDCO Panel is $54. No word on the pricing of the Gear Trap. Kudos to PDW for ensuring adequate stock. The day after the launch, both are still available for sale on their website. Review coming soon. Stay tuned!
