The Smartwatch field is starting to get pretty crowded, but I haven’t invested in one yet because I’m pretty hard on watches and nobody has released one that looks like it can take a beating. I always like to highlight local Chicago companies here on Loadedpocketz and LUNATIK, maker of the highly rated TAKTIK Extreme case for the iPhone 5 and the upcoming TAKTIK 360 for iPhone 6, announced last year that they are also releasing a line of smartwatches.

LUNATIK LYNK Collection
The one that caught my eye is the EPIC. It’s rated to the MIL-Spec 810F standard for “ruggedized” devices and water-resistant to 10ATM, which means it isn’t a dive watch but it should be suitable for swimming/snorkeling and other sports.
Additional Specs haven’t been released and there is no launch date announced at this time, but you can sign up at the bottom of the LYNK Product Page to get notified when the watches are available.
