When I was a young man growing up south of the Mason-Dixon line, it wasn’t uncommon for the men to head out to the porch after dinner, throw back a few, and shoot the s**t. So when I saw the leather-bound flasks and mason jars from the 1776 Company Kickstarter Campaign, it brought back old times.
Each of the items are hand stitched (not glued) with a removable sleeve made from leather from Chicago-based Horween Leather Company. The leak proof flask is made from stainless steel twice as thick as the industry standard. 1776 says the items will be heirloom quality and 10% of all Kickstarter sales goes to Toys for Tots. Custom engraving is available at some pledge levels.
My favorite is the red leather.
Here’s a video showing the making of a flask…
1776’s Kickstarter Campaign only has a few days left. Any of these handcrafted, made in the U.S.A. items, would make excellent holiday gifts so get in now before the prices go up.
