Tactical Tailor has come out with a new bag.  The Tactical Tailor Concealed Carry Messenger has three loop lined compartments to store gear including one that is designed to concealed a firearm.

I haven’t had one in-hand yet, but there is definitely some good stuff here.  I like that Tactical Tailor went with 500D Cordura, which is still durable while keeping the weight down. Long zipper pulls and a carry handle will make the bag easier to get into. The Hypalon side panels are a nice touch.  The only other bag maker I’ve seen use Hypalon is Triple Aught Design.

Tactical Tailor includes a holster insert and accessory pouch with the bag and not gouging their customers for more money by selling them separately.

From the pictures, it seems that carry comfort was top of mind.  The back panel has thick airmesh padding as does the shoulder strap.

The shoulder strap is beefy.  It reminds me of a padded version of Tom Bihn’s Ultimate Shoulder Strap but with quick release buckles and a wider strap.  Although I never reviewed it, I’ve heard good things about the carry comfort of Tactical Tailor’s Concealed Carry Sling Bag and so I’d be willing to bet this new bag continues that trend.

The only concern I would have is the size.  Tactical Tailor contradicted itself a bit in the announcement claiming that the Concealed Carry Messenger was “roomy” and yet “low profile”.  Well, unless Tactical Tailor has discovered some dark magic, it’s pretty difficult to do both in the same design.  I think back to when Vertx released their EDC Satchel.  The bag looked great but users quickly found out that it was too bulky and luggage-like for Everyday Carry.  Tactical Tailor doesn’t provide specs on their bags so it difficult to judge how the Concealed Carry Messenger compares in size to the EDC Satchel but hopefully it’s more compact.

The Tactical Tailor Concealed Carry Messenger retails for $150 and is available here in several color combinations including Black, Black/Charcoal, Black/Kryptek Typhon, Black/Ranger Green and Black/Wolf Grey.
